Big Bang ‘Alive’ Inkigayo comeback
Intro:
I CAN’T BE THE ONLY ONE WHO STARTED LAUGHING WHEN THEY SAW THE HATS. OH MY GOODNESS. I did like the floating thing though. UNUSUAL~
Blue:
I like G-Dragon’s look so much better for the actual song. THANK HEAVENS THE HAT IS GONE. But wtf to them having fancy hats for like 30 seconds of air time. HA. Anyway, to get straight to the important stuff: Taeyang’s hair. IT’S SO TALL. SO WIDE. I have recently been thinking a lot about his hair (I know; such a good use of my time) and I wonder if he will ever be able to go to something that isn’t vertical. I know he’s short but it would be so nice to see him with something different. I guess it would disrupt the height dynamics of the group at this point if he lost those inches. I mean, check it out! It’s at least 3 inches of just hair, if not more. I liked his standard mohawk but this just seems like overkill. Also, I feel like TOP with down-hair is like making him instantly have cute puppy eyes. AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT FEELS THIS WAY?
ANYWAY, haha. I think the did a good job with this. I was wondering how they’d translate what was in the video to stage and I think it works. It’s a little cheesy, but it could definitely be worse. I think they probably used too many electronic nonsense, but hopefully this will get some justice if they ever play on a less flashy show. I think this is one of those songs that would work best on stools or something simple like that.
Bad Boy:
I still loooooove this song. It’s definitely my favorite from the album. The dance, however, is very weird to me. I first saw it all the way through thanks to YG uploading their performance at their Seoul Big Show and while I think the Inkigayo one is smoother, it still just seems a little awkward. I can’t for the life of me figure out how GD always makes things look so natural though. He technically should seem ridiculous with that hair etc., but he ends up making this work more than anyone else. I think part of the reason it feels strange to me is because this song is so solid, and I know for entertainment’s sake they “need” the dance, but I guess this feels a transition away from regular K-pop so to have the two try to mesh has an uncomfortable result. Plus, a lot of it’s just Taeyang bouncing around in weird pants and the rest of them doing weird arm movements. WHATEVER THOUGH. I still enjoy it.
